Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing And Installing : Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to OVERVIEW - WHEEL BEARING HOUSING, WHEEL BEARING UNIT AND COIL SPRING SHOCK ABSORBER .

NOTE:

Bonded rubber bushings have a limited range of motion. Only tighten suspension screws when vehicle is in curb weight or control position.

Wheel bearing, lifting to curb weight position on vehicles with coil springs, refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .

-- Install wheel bearing housing.

-- Insert the bolt -1- with the spacer tube -2- and install the nut -3- loosely.

CAUTION:

Do not tighten the threaded connection using the nut -3-.

-- Tighten the bolt -1-.

-- Install the coil spring, refer to COIL SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the brake caliper and brake rotor, refer to BRAKE ROTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING and BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the rear wheel speed sensor, refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - ABS/ESP , see -item 1- and -item 2- .

-- Install the wheel.

-- Tighten the wheel, wheel bolt tightening specification: 140 Nm. Refer to AUDI SQ5 TYPE 8R, MY 2012 - 2015 .

Tighten the drive axle to wheel hub threaded connection, refer to THREADED CONNECTION BETWEEN DRIVE AXLE AND WHEEL HUB, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .

-- To determine if an axle alignment is required, see Table, refer to WHEN A VEHICLE ALIGNMENT IS NECESSARY .

The axle alignment on the front and rear axles must be performed on a VW/Audi approved alignment rack.
