Overview - Cylinder Head: Notes

Cylinder Head Gasket
- Replacing, refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Installed position: the part number faces the cylinder head
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
Cylinder Head
- Removing and installing, refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Check for distortion, refer to Figure
- Reworking dimension, refer to Figure
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
O-Ring
- Replace
Camshaft Position Sensor
- Cylinder bank 1 (right) Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
- Cylinder bank 2 (left) Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163-
Bolt
- Tightening specification, refer to OVERVIEW - IGNITION SYSTEM .
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Cylinder Head, Tightening Sequence
- Always replace
- As a running change, the polydrive bolt heads were replaced with internal multi-point bolts.
- Follow the sequence when loosening. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Ignition Coil
- Removing and installing, refer to IGNITION COILS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Cylinder Head Cover
- Removing and installing, refer to LEFT CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for left side, refer to RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for right side.
Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking
Cap
Hose
- For the crankcase ventilation
- Removing and installing, refer to CRANKCASE VENTILATION HOSES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
O-Ring
- Always Replace
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence: left cylinder head cover, refer to Fig 2, right cylinder head cover, refer to Fig 3
- Always replace if the seal is damaged
Bolt
- Tightening specification, refer to OVERVIEW - IGNITION SYSTEM .
Connector Strip
- For the ignition coils
Seal
- For the cylinder head cover
- Replace if damaged or leaking
Camshaft Adjustment Solenoid Valve
- Cylinder bank 1 (right) Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-
- Cylinder bank 2 (left) Camshaft Adjustment Valve 2 -N208-
Bolt
- 5 Nm
O-Ring
- Always Replace
