12 V Socket 2 -U18-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.

-- The release tabs -2- on the cigarette lighter release tool T40148 must engage in the openings in the 12 V socket -3- -arrow- and the threaded pin -1- must slide down as far as the stop.

-- Open the cover -2- on the 12 V socket and hold it in this position.

-- Slide the Cigarette Lighter Release Tool T40148 as far as the stop into the 12 V socket -3-.

-- Rotate the thumbwheel -1- on the Cigarette Lighter Release Tool T40148 clockwise as far as the stop.

The piston -2- is pulled upward and the release tabs -1- on the Cigarette Lighter Release Tool T40148 spread -arrows-.

-- Remove the 12 V socket from the illumination ring with the Socket Illumination Bulb -L42- using the Cigarette Lighter Release Tool T40148.

-- Disconnect the connector.
