Clutch Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Clutch master or slave cylinder, removal and installation information. Refer to CLUTCH MASTER OR CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION INFORMATION .

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to electronic components.

Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.

-- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) cable -2-. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the engine compartment E-box. Refer to Fuse Panel B -SB- IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT E-BOX, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

While performing the following work, make sure no brake fluid comes into contact with plenum chamber or with transmission below. If it does, clean the area thoroughly.

-- Unclamp the supply hose -2- to the clutch master cylinder with a Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm 3094.

NOTE:

A slight deformation of the supply hose remains after the Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm 3094 has been unclamped.

The supply hose is therefore not defective.

After removing the Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm 3094, the supply hose must be formed back into its original shape.

-- Place a lint-free cloth under the clutch master cylinder.

-- Remove the clutch master cylinder return hose -2- and seal with the Sealing Tool T10249/1.

-- Open the clip -3- with a screwdriver and pull it out.

-- Remove the hose/line assembly -4-.

NOTE:

The connector -5- remains connected.

-- Over-center spring, removing. Refer to REMOVING .

-- Remove the pin -1- from the clutch pedal -3-.

NOTE:

Ignore -2- and -arrows A and B-.

-- Release the clutch master cylinder in direction of -arrow- using the Wrench - Ring 3355.

-- Remove the clutch master cylinder -1- and guide it out through the opening for the engine wiring harness.
