Airbag Control Module -J234-, assembly overview

1 - Airbag Control Module J234

Removing

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
Remove center console → Center console, assembly overview .
Release catch - 4 - at connector - 3 -.
Pull connector - 3 - out of control unit - 1 -.

Remove bolts - 2 - (3x).
Detach control unit.

2 - Bolts (3x)

Tightening torque 7 Nm

4 - Securing clip

NOTE:

After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures. →
- 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL
- 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL for ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, CABRIOLET
If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembly, use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A to interrogate, erase and then again interrogate DTC memory.
The control module must be recoded after replacement.
