Airbag control module -J234-, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1410
- Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A

Airbag safety precautions .
1 - Airbag Control Module
- Removal:
- Disconnect the battery ground (GND) strap →
- 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL
- 27 - BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL for ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT - GENERAL INFORMATION
- Remove center console → Center console, removing and installing (vehicles up to 10.04) .
- Position securing clip - 4 - on connector - 3 -.
- Remove connector - 3 - from control module - 1 -.
- Remove bolts - 2 - (Qty. 3).
- Remove control module.
- Installing:
Installation is reverse of removal.
NOTE:
- Follow safety measures after connecting battery →

- 27 - BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL for ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT - GENERAL INFORMATION
- If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 shows a malfunction after assembly, DTC memory must be checked with Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A, cleared and then rechecked.
- After replacing control module, it must be coded.
