Passive Occupant Detection System (PODS) passenger airbag deactivation belt latch (USA only), replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

CAUTION: Observe:

Removing 

NOTE:
  • The seat occupied recognition passenger airbag deactivation belt latch is only installed on passenger side.
CAUTION: The seat occupied recognition passenger airbag deactivation belt latch must be replaced each time passenger belt tensioner deploys.

Removing

Installing 

CAUTION: The seat occupied recognition passenger airbag deactivation belt latch must be replaced each time passenger belt tensioner deploys.

Observe:

Installation is reverse of removal.

NOTE:
  • If seat occupied recognition passenger airbag deactivation belt latch is replaced, seat occupied recognition registration sheet must be filled out with serial number and bar code sticker from new belt latch and sent to importer.
