Cross brace, removing and installing

NOTE:

Cross brace is only installed on certain vehicle versions. It is located on front plenum chamber cross panel.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

Removing

Remove plenum chamber cover rubber seal in direction of - arrow -.
Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - forward.

Remove combi-bolts - 2 - and - 4 -.

Remove cross brace - 1 - upward out of plenum chamber - 5 -.

3 - Left mounting bracket welded to body

6 - Right mounting bracket welded to body

- Arrow - points in direction of travel

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal.

Combi-bolt torque specification: 25 Nm
