Work preparations

NOTE:

The procedure described below will save you the effort of removing the center console.

Cut through adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A at rear end of flat area - arrow - using a cutting grinder.

CAUTION: Wear eye protection.

Order a new adjustment pin for shift lock as a replacement for other use.

Work procedure

Position steering wheel column adjustment all the way and back toward drivers seat.
Remove cover for shift mechanism → Shift mechanism cover (from VIN 8E_6A156500), removing and installing .
Remove ashtray in center console →
- 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
- 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT for BODY INTERIOR - CABRIOLET

Place selector lever in position "P".

Loosen bolt - 1 -.

Support bracket - 2 - of locking cable must be movable by hand

Insert adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A between pin on locking cable lever and locking cable eye.
Pull locking cable in direction of - arrow - and tighten bolt to 10 Nm.
Remove adjustment pin.
Check ignition key removal lock after every adjustment of locking cable → Shift mechanism (from VIN 8E_6A156500), checking .
