Clutch Master Cylinder: Removing

-- Clutch master or slave cylinder, removal and installation information, refer to CLUTCH MASTER OR SLAVE CYLINDER INFORMATION .

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to electronic components.

Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.

-- Disconnect the Ground (GND) cable -2- from the battery terminal. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the engine compartment E-box. Refer to RELAY CARRIERS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES .

NOTE:

While performing the following work, make sure no brake fluid comes into contact with plenum chamber or with transmission below. If it does, clean the area thoroughly.

-- Unclamp the supply hose -2- to the clutch master cylinder with a 3094.

NOTE:

A slight deformation of the supply hose remains after the 3094 have been unclamped.

The supply hose is therefore not defective.

After removing the 3094, the supply hose must be formed back into its original shape.

-- Place a lint-free cloth under the clutch master cylinder.

-- Remove the supply hose -2- from the clutch master cylinder and connect it with the T10249/1.

-- Open the clip -3- with a screwdriver and pull it out.

-- Remove the hose/line assembly -4-.

NOTE:

The connector -5- remains connected.

-- Over-center spring, removing. Refer to OVER-CENTER SPRING .

-- Remove the pin -1- from the clutch pedal -3-.

NOTE:

Ignore -2- and -arrows A and B-.

-- Release the clutch master cylinder in direction of -arrow- using the 3355.

-- Remove the clutch master cylinder -1- and guide it out through the opening for the engine wiring harness.
