Coolant Level, Checking And Filling

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 19 other vehicles, including the 2017 Audi S5, 2017 Audi A5 Quattro, 2016 Audi S5, 2016 Audi A5 Quattro, and 2015 Audi S5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The scale -2- is designed only for coolant additive -G 13-.

WARNING:

The coolant reservoir is under pressure. Open only when the engine is cold.

CAUTION:

Use only distilled water for mixing coolant additives. Optimum corrosion protection can be reached only by using distilled water.

NOTE:

The vehicle must level.

Refer to the Electronic Parts Information.(ETKA) for suitable freeze protections.

The water used for mixing greatly influences the effectiveness of the coolant. In order to have a coolant mixture for all countries, always use distilled water to mix the coolant in older models.

G12 ++ and G13 can also be mixed with coolant additives G11, G12 and G12+.

-- Check the coolant level in the reservoir when the engine is cold.

-- If the coolant level is too low: Add coolant according to the mixture ratio.

NOTE:

Small quantities of coolant can be added. When larger quantities of coolant are needed when filling, the Cooling System Charge Unit:VAS 6096  should be used.

Consult the owner's manual for the Cooling System Charge Unit:VAS 6096  .

If there is a loss of fluid and this is not usage-related: Determine the cause and repair it (repair measure).
