Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415-, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- On USA vehicles, Remove The Right Impact Absorber. Refer to IMPACT ABSORBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the MMI screen cover. Refer to MMI SCREEN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove The Gap Cover For The Instrument Cluster. Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAP COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the screw -2- for the trim -1-.

-- Insert the Ignition Lock Pliers :VAS6339 through the trim doors.

-- Position the tips of the Ignition Lock Pliers :VAS6339 on both holes -A arrows- on the Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- -2-.

-- Press the Ignition Lock Pliers :VAS6339 together -B arrows- to spread the tips of the pliers and release the trim retaining tabs.

-- Hold the Ignition Lock Pliers :VAS6339 pressed with one hand and remove the trim -1- with the other hand -arrow C-.

NOTE:

Only use the Ignition Lock Pliers :VAS6339 to release. Remove the trim by hand.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Remove the Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- -1- forward from the instrument panel towards the driver footwell.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- by sliding the retainer -4- upward -arrow- and pressing the release inward.
