Front Three-Point Seat Belt, Removing And Installing: Removing

Follow all regulations when disposing of pyrotechnic components. Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING (PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS) .

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Remove the front belt end fitting. Refer to FRONT BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the side trim panel. Refer to SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat belt positioning motor. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT SEAT BELT POSITIONING MOTOR -V413- / -V414-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

WARNING:

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Release the connector lock -5- with a small screwdriver and disconnect the seat belt force limiter -2- and seat belt tensioner igniter 1 -7- connectors.

-- Unclip the seat belt guide -4- and thread the seat belt webbing -6- with the belt tongue on the seat belt relay -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and the seat belt tensioner from the mount.
