Front Seat Belt Latch, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and Note The Following:

-- Always clean the threaded holes for the self-locking bolts, for example, using a thread tap.

-- Replace the bolt for the seat belt latch.

Seat Belt Latch Installation Position:

-- Position the seat belt latch -2- so the opening -arrow B- aligns with the tab -arrow A- on the seat frame -1-.

Market-Specific Versions with Passenger Occupant Detection System for Front Passenger Airbag Deactivation:

-- If the passenger occupant detection system seat belt latch for front passenger airbag deactivation is replaced, fill out the system registration sheet with the serial number and bar code label from the new seat belt latch and send it to the importer.

NOTE:

Make sure the connectors are installed all the way and engage audibly.

WARNING:

The ignition must be on when connecting the battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle interior when connecting the battery.

-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on. Refer to BATTERY .

NOTE:

If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
