Driver Front Airbag Crash Sensor -G283-, Removing And Installing: Removing

There is a risk of injury if the engine starts automatically on vehicles with a Start/Stop System.
- For vehicles with an activated Start/Stop System (recognizable by a message in the instrument cluster), the engine may start automatically as needed.
- Make sure that the Start/Stop System is deactivated when working on the vehicle (turn off the ignition, turn on the ignition when necessary).
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY .
-- Remove the front wheel housing liner. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
WARNING:
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Pull the locking mechanism -4- downward -arrow- and disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and the front airbag crash sensor -2-.
