Lumbar Support, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the front seat:

Standard seat and sport seat (manual). Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL .
Standard and Power Sport Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to POWER FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Attach the front seat to the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TWO PIECE .

-- Remove the head restraints:

Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, HEADREST WITH SLIDING LOCKING MECHANISM .
Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER HEADREST .

-- Remove The Cover With Front Backrest Cushion:

Standard Seat and Sport Seat (Manual or Power) and Comfort Seat. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .
Super Sport Seat. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SUPER SPORT SEAT .

NOTE:

Lay Plastic Film Between The Seat Pan Cover And The Backrest Frame To Protect Against Metal Shavings.

Wear Protective Eyewear.

-- Drill out the rivet -2-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 3- to the four-way lumbar support length and height adjustment motors

-- Free up the electrical wiring harness on the four-way lumbar support -1-.

-- Disengage and remove the four-way lumbar support on the backrest frame -2-.
