Sill Panel Trim, Removing And Installing, Except AUDI RS5: Installing

Tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - TRIM MOLDING AND COVERS .

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace damaged clips.

-- Slide the new clip -3- onto the pin -1- -arrow-.

The arrow -2- on the clip must point in the direction of travel.

-- Remove the adhesive residue using :VAS6349 .

-- Clean the adhesive surface on the vehicle body with :D 009 401 04 .

-- Peel off a little of the protective film -2 and 4- on both ends of the adhesive tape as illustrated.

NOTE:

If necessary, use the pull assist -5- to remove the protective film on the ends of the stone chip protective molding.

-- Apply a bead of adhesive -3- on both ends of the stone chip protective molding -1-.

-- Mount the stone chip protective molding -2- on the clips and push it all the way to the rear in direction of travel.

-- Peel off the protective film -1- in sequence -A through D- and press on the entire length of the stone chip protective molding using a :3356 .

Resting time approximately 3.5 hours at room temperature
