Overview - SUBFRAME, A4 With All Wheel Drive (AWD)

  1. Clamp
    • Replaced together with the rubber bushing and stabilizer bar
    • The rubber bushing and clamp must not be separated from the stabilizer bar.
  2. Bolt
    • 25 Nm  +90°
    • Always replace if removed
    • Tighten evenly

    • Always replace if removed
  7. Stabilizer Bar

    • 5 Nm 
  11. Nut
    • Always replace if removed
  12. Upper Transverse Link
  13. Bolt
    • 115 Nm  +90°
    • Always replace if removed
    • The bolts must not be loosened or tightened when the springs are installed. Release the coil springs using the spring tensioner before loosening or tightening.
  14. Left Rear Level Control System Sensor -G76-
    • Only sensors of the same version may be installed.
    • Complete with components
    • The sensor lever must point toward outside
    • Replace in vehicle. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT REAR LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM SENSOR -G76- / -G77-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
    • The headlamp adjustment must be checked after loosening. Refer to HEADLAMP, ADJUSTING .
    • If the Level Control System Sensor -- was removed and installed on a vehicle with electronically controlled damping or if the linkage was loosened, the control position must be reprogrammed. Refer to CONTROL POSITION, PROGRAMMING . Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
    • If the control position was reprogrammed on vehicles with lane assist, the Directional Stabilization Assistance Control Module -J759- must be calibrated again. Refer to LANE ASSIST, CALIBRATING .
  15. Bolt
    • 9 Nm

    • Always replace if removed

  20. Tie Rod
    • There are versions made of aluminum and steel.
    • A mixed installation is not permitted
  21. Eccentric Screw

    • 55 Nm 
  26. Bolt
    • 115 Nm  +90°
    • Always replace if removed
    • The bolts must not be loosened or tightened when the springs are installed. Release the coil springs using the spring tensioner before loosening or tightening.
  27. Clip
    • Not installed on all vehicles.
  28. Left Stone Chip Protection
    • Not installed on all vehicles.
  29. Center Stone Chip Protection
    • Not installed on all vehicles.
  30. Right Stone Chip Protection
    • Not installed on all vehicles.

  36. Front Bonded Rubber Bushing
  37. Spacing Disc
    • Installed on the allroad
    • Note installation position: the ribbed side faces the body.
  38. Subframe
  39. Front Bonded Rubber Bushing
  40. Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing
  41. Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing
  42. Spacing Disc
    • Installed on the allroad
    • Note installation position: the ribbed side faces the body.
