Vacuum Pump, Removing And Installing, 2.7L TDI And 3.0L TDI Diesel Engine: Installing

NOTE:

Only applies to generation 1 engines.

The vacuum pump is integrated in the oil pump on generation 2 engines.

NOTE:

Replace the seal.

Make sure the seal is in the correct installation position.

-- Install the vacuum line on the removed vacuum pump.

Make sure it is in the correct installation position.

-- Position the vacuum pump tappet so it engages in the groove on the camshaft when vacuum pump is installed.

-- Insert the vacuum pump.

-- Make sure the seal is seated correctly.

-- Install and tighten all the screws on the vacuum pump sealing flange. Refer to -Item ) OVERVIEW - VACUUM PUMP - Bolt

-- Place the vacuum line into the plenum chamber bulkhead.

-- Connect the vacuum line and vacuum hose behind the plenum chamber bulkhead.

-- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to BULKHEAD .

-- Install the engine cover.
