Left/Right Parking Brake Motor -V282- / -V283-, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Install New Seal.

-- Turn the brake caliper adjuster screw -1- back slightly.

NOTE:

This makes it easier to install the actuator.

-- Position the actuator.

NOTE:

Make sure that the seal is seated correctly

-- Item -2- Then rotate actuator so bolt hole -a- and threads in brake caliper housing -b- are brought into alignment.

Make sure that parking brake actuator is seated flush against the brake caliper.

-- Install both bolts on the actuator. Tightening Specification:12 Nm.

Always install the bolts a few turns by hand. If threads are damaged, the entire brake caliper must be replaced!

NOTE:

Only insert connector by hand to avoid damaging it.

Make sure that connectors on vehicle side and actuator side are free of dirt and damage.

-- Install connector.

-- Install The Wheels. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS / WHEEL, CHANGING AND MOUNTING .

After replacing the actuator, the basic setting must be performed with the vehicle diagnostic tester in the EPB function.

To do so, use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Then select under "Function" the corresponding functions.
