Overview - Cylinder Head: Notes

Cylinder Head Gasket
- Replacing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Installed position: the part number faces the cylinder head
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
Cylinder Head
- Removing and installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Check for distortion. Refer to Figure
- Reworking dimension. Refer to Figure
- Change the coolant and engine oil after replacing
O-Ring
- Replace
Camshaft Position Sensor
- Cylinder bank 1 (right) Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
- Cylinder bank 2 (left) Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163-
Bolt
- Tightening specification. Refer to appropriate service information. .
Cylinder Head Bolt
- Replace
- Follow the sequence when loosening. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING =>
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Figure.
  NOTE:
  Cylinder head bolts without a collar have a Polydrive wrench profile.
  
  Cylinder head bolts with a collar have an internal multi-point wrench profile.
  
  If the cylinder head bolt with collar >>sticks<< on the camshafts when removing the camshafts must be removed if necessary.
Ignition Coil
- Removing and installing. Refer to IGNITION SYSTEM .
Cylinder Head Cover
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for the left side and RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for the right side.
Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking
Cap
Crankcase Ventilation Pipe
O-Ring
- Replace
Bolt
- Replace if the seal is damaged
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to left cylinder head cover Figure and right cylinder head cover Figure
Bolt
- Tightening specification: 5 Nm.
Connector Strip
- For the ignition coils
Seal
- For the cylinder head cover
- Replace if damaged or leaking
Camshaft Adjustment Solenoid Valve
- Cylinder bank 1 (right) Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-
- Cylinder bank 2 (left) Camshaft Adjustment Valve 2 -N208-
Bolt
- 5 Nm
O-Ring
- Replace
