Camshafts, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the affected camshaft timing chain from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFT .

Left Cylinder Head:

-- Remove the intake manifold upper section. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the high pressure pump toothed belt. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Using the Wrench - Pin Type:3036 , loosen the central bolt -1- on the toothed belt drive sprocket approximately two turns.

-- Remove the toothed belt drive gear with the Puller - Toothed Belt Pulley:T10320 .

-- Install the left or right cylinder head cover. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the guide frame bolts and nuts in the sequence -18 through 1-.

NOTE:

Be careful of the roller rocker lever and the adjuster when removing the camshafts.

-- Carefully remove the guide frame and the camshafts.
