Camshaft Seal, Removing And Installing: Procedure

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the clamps -arrows-.

-- Tilt the toothed belt guard forward and disengage the pins on the bottom side of it.

-- Loosen the tensioning roller bolt -arrow- approximately two turns.

-- Using the Wrench - Pin Type:3036 , loosen the central bolt -1- on the toothed belt drive sprocket approximately two turns.

-- Remove the toothed belt drive gear with the Puller - Toothed Belt Pulley:T10320 .

-- Remove the toothed belt drive sprocket with the toothed belt.

-- Move the inner section of the Puller - Camshaft Seal:2085 three turns out of the outer section and secure the inner section with the knurled bolt.

-- Lubricate the threaded head on the camshaft seal puller position it and install it as far as possible into the seal using force.

-- Loosen knurled bolt and turn inner part against camshaft until seal is removed.

-- Tension seal extractor in a vise at mounting points and remove seal with pliers.

-- Clean the running and sealing surfaces.

-- Install the new seal all the way using the thrust sleeve taken from Seal Installer - Crankshaft Seal:T10053 . Use the M10 x 1.25 x 40 bolt -arrow- taken from the Seal Installer - Camshaft Installer Kit:3241 .

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

-- Install the high pressure pump toothed belt. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
