Cylinder Head, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING .

Left Cylinder Head:

-- Remove the high pressure pump toothed belt. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the high pressure pump toothed belt with the Puller - Pulley:T40064  .

-- Using the Wrench - Pin Type:3036  , loosen the central bolt -1- on the toothed belt drive sprocket approximately two turns.

-- Remove the toothed belt drive gear with the Puller - Toothed Belt Pulley:T10320  .

-- Remove the toothed belt drive sprocket with the toothed belt.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the rear toothed belt guard.

-- Remove the fuel supply line -2- and fuel return line -1- from the high pressure pump and lay it aside.

Continued for Both Sides:

-- Remove the intake manifold upper section. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left or right intake manifold lower section. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD LOWER SECTIONS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the affected camshaft timing chain from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the banjo bolt -item 8-  OVERVIEW - CYLINDER HEAD List Item:Banjo Bolt and the coolant ventilation line.

-- Remove the connecting pipe. Refer to LEFT INTERMEDIATE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for the left and. Refer to RIGHT INTERMEDIATE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for the right.

-- Install the left or right cylinder head cover. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Right Cylinder Head:

-- Remove the right coolant pipe from the cylinder head -arrow-.

-- Loosen the cylinder head bolts in the following sequence.

-- Remove bolts and carefully remove cylinder head.
