Camshaft Adjuster Valves, Removing And Installing: Installing

CAUTION:

The valve seat in the control housing must not be scored or scratched.
The camshaft adjustment valves and control housing must be free of dust and contamination.
The camshaft adjustment valves must not be subjected to knocks or impacts.
Only remove new camshaft adjustment valve from packaging right before installation.
Camshaft adjustment valves must not be pulled into valve seat with the bolts. Only press them in by hand.

-- Coat sealing with clean engine oil.

-- Carefully insert Camshaft Adjustment Valve -- into housing and press it perpendicular to valve axle in by hand until it stops.

-- Tighten the mounting bolts -arrows- to 3.8 Nm.

-- Clean the sealing surfaces on the cover and on the cylinder head.

-- If replacing the seals in the cover. Refer to COVER SEALS, INSTALLING .

-- Apply a thin bead of Sealant:D 176 501 A1 to the clean sealing surface on the cover.

-- Install the cover and tighten all the bolts -arrows- lightly.

-- Tighten all the bolts. Tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - CYLINDER HEAD .

-- Install the vacuum pump. Refer to MECHANICAL VACUUM PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Installing cylinder head cover. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Assemble in reverse order of disassembly.
