Valve Stem Seals, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove roller rocker lever together with support elements and place on a clean surface.

NOTE:

Ensure that the roller rocker levers and the support elements are not interchanged.

-- Remove the spark plugs using :3122B .

-- Move piston for that cylinder to "Bottom Dead Center (BDC) position".

-- Install the :2036 with :2036/1 and adjust the bearing.

-- Install the :T40012/1 in the spark plug hole, connect the compressed air line with a commercially available adapter and apply constant pressure. At least 6 bar (87 psi).

-- Remove the valve springs with the : VW541/1A and :VW541/6 .

NOTE:

Tight valve retainers can be loosened by tapping lightly on the lever.

-- Remove the valve stem seals using :3364 .
