Cap
- Replace the seal if damaged.
Cylinder Head Cover
- Removing and installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 10 Nm
- Replace the seal if it is damaged.
- With a spacer sleeve and seal
Lifting Eye
Bolt
- 23 Nm
Intake Manifold Support

- 23 Nm

Connection

- Always replace
- Note the installation position
Chain Tensioner
- 50 Nm
- For the camshaft timing chain
- Only rotate the engine with chain tensioner installed
Seal
- Always replace

- For the Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205- and Exhaust Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N318-
- Replace if damaged or leaking
- Installing. Refer to COVER SEALS, INSTALLING .
Cover
- Can be removed and installed with the engine installed
- Coat the sealing surface with Sealant:D 176 501 A1

- 8 Nm

- 23 Nm
Guide Rail
- For the camshaft timing chain
Bolt
- 23 Nm
- Insert with Locking Fluid:D 000 600 A2
Connection
- Bolt on in front of cylinder head installation
- Can be replaced only when the transmission is removed.
O-Ring
- Always replace
Seal
- Always replace
Cylinder Head Gasket
- Metal Gasket
- Always replace
- Cylinder head gasket, replacing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- After replacing, replace entire amount of coolant.
Cylinder Head
- Check for distortion. Refer to Figure
- Removing and installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- After replacing, replace entire amount of coolant.
Tensioner
- For the ribbed belt
- Ribbed belt, removing and installing. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Cylinder Head Bolt
- Always replace
- Coat the bolt with Locking Fluid: D 197 300 A2 before installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Follow the installation instructions and the sequence when loosening and tightening the bolts. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Cylinder Head Cover Gasket
- Replace if damaged or leaking
- Note the installation position
