Battery Fan Air Supply Ducts, Removing And Installing

The air supply duct routes cooling air extracted from the passenger compartment to the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1-. The air supply duct consists of two sections. The front section (red) is installed under the left section of the rear seat bench while the rear section (blue) is installed directly into the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1-.

WARNING:

Read and follow the high voltage electrical system general warnings. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL WARNINGS .

NOTE:

Be careful not to damage the foam seals on the air supply duct when removing and installing the ducts and make sure the separating points are completely sealed.

Removing Air Supply Duct RearSection

-- Remove the luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .

-- Pull the air supply duct toward the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- and release it from its retainer -1- upward.

-- Lift the air supply duct and remove it upward -2- from the mounts on the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1-.

Installing Air Supply Duct Rear Section

-- Insert the air supply duct into the mounts on the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- -arrow 1- at the front and then secure it in the retainer -arrow 2-.

-- Removing the air supply duct rear section. Refer to HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL WARNINGS .

-- Remove the left section of the rear seat bench. Refer to REAR SEATS .

-- Remove the nut -1-, if equipped.

-- Lift the air supply duct and remove it toward the rear through the carpet.

Installing Air Supply Duct Front Section

-- Slide the air supply duct forward through the carpet and position it on the threaded pin.

-- Tighten the nut -1-.

-- Install the left section of the rear seat bench. Refer to REAR SEATS .

-- Install the air supply duct rear section. Refer to BATTERY FAN AIR SUPPLY DUCTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
