Overview - Turbocharger

NOTE:

Hose connections are secured by clamps and retaining clips.

Charge air system must be properly sealed.

Replace the self-locking nuts.

After installing turbocharger, let engine run at idle for approximately 1 minute and without increasing engine speed. This ensures that charger is lubricated.

- Engine codes CASA and CASD: EGR recirculation bypass valve
- Engine code CATA: By-pass valve for the exhaust gas recirculation auxiliary cooler

- Must be free of oil and grease before installing
Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-
- 45 Nm
- Lubricate with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information for hot bolt paste.
- For removing and installing on engine code CATA. Refer to Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

- Replace if damaged

- With Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-

- 30 Nm + 90° (¹ /₄ turn) additional turn
- Replace
- Lubricate with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information for hot bolt paste.
Gasket
- Replace
Pre-Catalytic Converter
Nut
- 23 Nm
- Replace
- Lubricate with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information for hot bolt paste.
Seal
- Replace
Bolt
- Pre-tighten to 7 Nm.
- 9 Nm
- Lubricate with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information for hot bolt paste.
Oil Return Line Upper Section
- From the turbocharger

Intermediate Pipe
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT INTERMEDIATE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for left side and. Refer to RIGHT INTERMEDIATE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for right side.

- Replace
- Lubricate with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information for hot bolt paste.
