Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Play: Procedure:

-- Attach the Dial Gauge - 0-10mm:VAS6079 with the Dial Gauge Holder:VW387 to the cylinder block and set against the crankshaft counterweight.

-- Press the crankshaft against the dial gauge by hand.

-- Set the dial gauge to "0".

-- Press the crankshaft off the dial indicator and read the value.

Axial play: 0.15 to 0.25 mm.
