Rear Seat Outer Seat Belts, Removing And Installing: Removing
- Follow the General Safety Precautions when working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components). Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Follow the special information regarding belt tensioners. Refer to BELT TENSIONER SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS .
-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY .
-- Remove the seat benches. Refer to BENCH SEATS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the rear seats. Refer to REAR SEATS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the belt end fitting for the outer rear seat. Refer to REAR SEAT OUTER SEAT BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Wheel Housing Trim, Removing and Installing. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the D-pillar trim panel. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the supports. Refer to SUPPORTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the luggage compartment side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore, the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before disconnecting the ignition wire and ground wire. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.
-- Disconnect the wiring harness from the automatic belt retractor.
-- Remove the bolt -1- (50 Nm ) and detach the seat belt guide -2- from the belt height adjuster.
-- Remove the bolt -4- (50 Nm ) and remove the automatic belt retractor -3- from the mount.
