Airbag Connector, Replacing: Removing

WARNING:

-- Remove the airbag unit on the driver side. Refer to DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG UNIT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

WARNING:

Electrostatic discharges can lead to unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

-- Open the connector lock using a small screwdriver and disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the two angled tab connectors -2- from the contact plate.

-- Remove the angled tab connector -3- from the carrier plate.

-- Remove the round push on contact -4- from the contact wire.

-- Remove the wire from the generator carrier clips -arrows-.
