Roof Pillar Strip, Removing And Installing

Removing the Roof Pillar Strip

-- Remove the cover strip. Refer to COVER STRIP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the rear side window.

-- Remove the pop rivets -2 and 3-.

-- Carefully detach the roof pillar strip at the adhesive surface -4- and remove it from the vehicle.

-- Remove any adhesive residue with Adhesive Strip Remover: VAS6349 .

Installing the Roof Pillar Strip

-- Clean the adhesion surface thoroughly with adhesive remover D 002 000 10 immediately prior to adhesion.

The adhesive surface must be free of dust, grease and adhesive residue.

-- Move the roof pillar strip -1- to the installation position.

-- Secure the first blind rivet -2- in the centering hole -5-.

-- Secure the remaining blind rivets -3-.

-- Remove the protective film -4-.

-- Firmly press on the roof pillar strip -1- in the adhesion surface area.
