General Information

The parking assistance system assists the driver during parking by signaling acoustically and optically the distance to an obstruction in front of or behind the vehicle.

The parking aid system consists of:

The Parking Aid Control Module
The Parking Aid Button
The Sensors In The Front Bumper
The Sensors In The Rear Bumper
The Front And Rear Parking Aid Warning Buzzers For Playback Of Acoustic Warning Tones

Malfunction Recognition and Malfunction Indicator:

The parking aid system is equipped with On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capabilities which assists in troubleshooting.

The "Guided Fault Finding" function is to be used for troubleshooting of one of the systems described as in service information "Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System". Refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER .

Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) to test the entire parking aid system. Refer to PARKING AID CONTROL MODULE -J446-, OUTPUT DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
