General Information

The tail lamps (tail, turn signal, brake and backup lamps) cannot be disassembled other than the turn signal and back-up lamps. The turn signal and back-up lamp are generated by one light bulb, which cannot be replaced individually. The remaining lighting is provided by Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs). Malfunctioning LEDs cannot be replaced.

Depending on market requirements, the tail lamps contain the following components and have the following functions:

Left Tail Lamp Bulb -M4- or Right Tail Lamp Bulb -M2-
Left Brake Lamp Bulb -M9- or Right Brake Lamp Bulb -M10-
Left Rear Turn Signal Bulb -M6- or Right Rear Turn Signal Bulb -M8-
Left Back-Up Lamp Bulb -M16- and Right Back-Up Lamp Bulb -M17-
Left Rear Side Marker Lamp Bulb -M37- Right Rear Side Marker Lamp Bulb -M38-

NOTE:

Faulty tail lamp LED:

If a single LED is faulty, the entire lamp shuts down and must be replaced.

Malfunction Recognition And Malfunction Indicator

Comfort System and Vehicle Electrical System are equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists troubleshooting of tail light assemblies.

The "Guided Fault Finding" function is to be used for troubleshooting of one of the systems described as in service information "Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System". Refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER .
