Headlamp, Changing From RHD To LHD, Halogen Headlamps (From My 2013)
- If the vehicle is driven in countries where the traffic drives on the other side of the road (either right-hand or left-hand traffic) where it is normally driven, both headlamp glasses must be partially masked using appropriately designed opaque cover film so that the asymmetrical low beam does not blind oncoming traffic.
- There are different covers available for installing on headlamp lenses to adapt from RHD to LHD vehicles and vice versa.
Procedure
The cover foil has a molding (marking foil), which must be placed along the line around the headlamp lens so that it covers the asymmetrical area of the low beam.
-- Clean headlamp glasses and dry them.
Headlamp driver's side:
-- Peel off the protective film from the protective backing.
-- Lay the cover foil on the corner -2- beginning on the headlamp glass. The cover foil must run parallel to the outer edge -4- on the headlamp glass.
-- Affix the cover foil to the headlamp lens as illustrated.
-- Separate the marking foil -1- from the cover foil -3- at the perforation -arrow- and pull if off the headlamp lens.
Headlamp passenger's side:
-- Peel off the protective film from the protective backing.
-- Place the protective backing starting on the corner -4- flush along the line -2- going around the headlamp glass.
-- Affix the cover foil to the headlamp lens as illustrated.
-- Separate the marking foil -3- from the protective backing -1- at the perforation -arrow- and pull it off the headlamp glass.
