Lower Seat Frame Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Standard Seat: Removing
- Follow all pyrotechnic components safety precautions, refer to PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
-- Remove the front seat, refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fasten the front seat on the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture :VAS6136 , refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Version with child seat anchor: Remove the child seat anchor, refer to FRONT CHILD SEAT ANCHOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Versions with a storage compartment: Remove the storage compartment, refer to STORAGE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the seat side trim on the tunnel side, refer to SEAT SIDE TRIM ON THE TUNNEL SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the seat side trim and bracket for the seat side sill trim, refer to SILL PANEL SEAT SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If installed: Free up the wiring harness for the seat heating from the seat frame, refer to FRONT SEAT WIRE ROUTING .
-- Detach the molding -1- from the seat cover in the front and side areas using the Backrest Panel Tool :3370 .
-- Detach molding -2- of the cover in the rear area using the Backrest Panel Tool :3370 .
The illustration does not show the backrest.
-- Remove the cushion -1- with cover -2- carefully under the backrest forward -arrows-.
-- Remove the cover and cushion from the seat pan, while doing this, if necessary free up the seat heating wiring harness.
