Hood, Removing And Installing: Notes
- To complete the procedure, a second technician is required to be at the following position. Refer to LATCH RELEASE LEVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the hood by opening when the pedestrian protection is triggered
- Only open the hood after the triggered pedestrian protection has been reset.
- Removed pedestrian protection: hinge is reset. Refer to HINGE, RESETTING .
-- Remove the spray nozzles. Refer to WINDSHIELD WASHER SYSTEM and remove the wiring harness from the hood.
-- Loosen the cable channel on the hinge.
-- Remove the gas-filled strut from the hood. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING. .
-- Remove the nuts from the hinge.
-- Remove the front lid.
Install in reverse order of removal.
