Turbocharger, Removing And Installing [XXXX]: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Replace seals, gaskets, O-rings and self-locking nuts after disassembly.
Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the oil supply line connection.
The hose connections as well as the air guide pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.
Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
To ensure the turbocharger is supplied with enough oil, let the engine run at idle for approximately 1 minute after installing the turbocharger. Do not increase the engine speed during this time.
-- For the electrical connections and wiring routing. Refer to RELAY CARRIERS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES
-- Install the rear coolant pipes. Refer to REAR COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the radiator bracket for the exhaust gas recirculation system refer to graphic below.
-- Install the exhaust gas recirculation cooler. Refer to EGR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, ENGINE CODES CRFA, AND CRFC .
-- Install the catalytic converter and/or particulate filter. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the front exhaust pipe. Refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the vacuum hose. Refer to CONNECTION DIAGRAM - VACUUM SYSTEM .
-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
After replacing an adaptation must be performed
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Select Diagnostic operating mode and start diagnostics .
-- Select the Select individual test tab and select the following tree structure consecutively:
- Drivetrain
- Select the engine code and engine
- 01 - OBD-capable systems
- 01 - Engine Electronics
- 01 - Engine electronics, functions
- 01 - Adaptation after changing the actuator
