Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-, Checking: Procedure
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the clamp -arrow-, and remove fuel hose from the high pressure reservoir.
-- Seal the open return line connection with a plug.
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions when working on the fuel supply system. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Connect the hose -3- to the return connection for the high pressure reservoir -2-.
1) Checking at Idle Speed
-- Start the engine and let it run in idle.
- Specified value: in 30 seconds greater than 75 ml
If the specified value is not attained, then the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- is faulty. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE -N276-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
2) Checking with Engine Speed Greater than or Equal to 2000 RPM
If the requirement under 1) is met, restart the engine and increase engine speed greater than or equal to 2000 RPM
- In the first seconds after the start the fuel is discharged
- Specified value after a few seconds: Return quantity 0 ml
- A small amount of dripping is permissible.
If the specified value is not attained, then the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- is faulty. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE -N276-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE -N276-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
3) The Engine Does Not Start.
Perform the test at cranking speed.
- Specified value: Return quantity 0 ml
- A small amount of dripping is permissible.
If the specified value is not attained, then the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- is faulty. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR VALVE -N276-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
