Pinpoint Test L : U0146:00

- L1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to L2. No CLEAR the DTCs. The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - L2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test.
Do the SOD-L, SOD-R and BCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to L3. No REFER to Module Communications Network . - L3 CHECK THE BCM DTCs
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . No GO to L4. - L4 RECHECK THE SOD-L OR SOD-R CMDTCs
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the SOD-L or SOD-R DTCs.
- Operate the system and test for normal operation.
- Check the SOD-L or SOD-R CMDTCs.
Is the concern still present?
Yes GO to L5. No CLEAR the DTCs. The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - L5 CHECK FOR LOST COMMUNICATION DTCs IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the CMDTCs from all modules.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait at least 10 seconds.
- Retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0146:00 or U0146:87 set in any other module?
Yes GO to L6. No * If there is an observable symptom present, REFER to the Symptom Chart: Side And Rear Vision . * If there is no observable symptom, the system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - L6 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect the BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, Refer to BCM Hardware Testing .. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
