DTC U1115: Lost Communication with Tilt and Telescopic Module [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Reconfirm DTCs.

      HINT: 

      If DTC U1002 is output from Main Body of the main body ECU, this indicates a sub bus 1 malfunction. Troubleshoot for DTC U1002 and check for malfunctions in sub bus 1.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN SUB BUS 1 LINES (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the H12 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H12-3 (CANP) - H12-11 (CANN) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multiplex Tilt and Telescopic ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND TERMINAL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H12-1 (GND) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multiplex Tilt and Telescopic ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GROUND CIRCUIT) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H12-9 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      H12-10 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      (to Multiplex Tilt and Telescopic ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    OK → See step   5 

  5. REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  6. GO TO DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC U1002: Lost Communication with Gateway Module (Main Body ECU) [08/2013 - ]
