DTC C2198/98: Initialization Switch (for Test Mode DTC) [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

1. Remove the tire pressure warning reset switch.

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 (INT) - 2 (E)	On	Below 1 Ω
   	Off	10 kΩ or higher

   TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
   
   

   *a	Component without harness connected (Tire Pressure Warning Reset Switch)
   *b	On
   *c	Off

NG → See step   3 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the H49 tire pressure warning reset switch connector.
2. Disconnect the P29 or P25 tire pressure warning ECU and receiver connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   FOR FMVSS138 TYPE
   
   

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   P29-3 (CLSW) - H49-1 (INT)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   P29-3 (CLSW) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   H49-2 (E) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

   FOR ECE-R64 TYPE
   
   

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   P25-3 (CLSW) - H49-1 (INT)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   P25-3 (CLSW) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   H49-2 (E) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
