Fuel Tank, Removing And Installing, AWD Vehicles: Installing
Press the fuel supply lines back on and pull on them to make sure the connector coupling is engaged correctly.
Pull on the connectors to make sure they are securely connected and correctly locked.
-- Check the ground cable for traces of oxidation on the connectors. Remove any oxidation if necessary.
-- Make sure the following connectors are secure:
- The connector -2- must be securely attached to the metal ring -3-.
- The contact -1- must be engaged in the fuel tank -4- and secured with the spacer -5-.
A3 CABRIOLET:
- The connector -2- must be securely attached to the metal ring -1-.
- The connectors -3- must be connected securely to the protective plate -4-.
- The contact -6- must be engaged in the fuel tank and secured with the spacer -5-.
Market-Specific:
- The connector -4- must be securely attached to the metal ring -1-.
- The contact -3- must be engaged in the fuel tank and secured with the spacer -2-.
Continuation For All Vehicles:
There is a risk of explosion due to electrostatic charge.
- After installing, check the electrical connection on fuel filler neck metal ring to a bare spot on the body using an ohmmeter.
- Specified Value: Approximately 0 Ω.
-- Make sure the fuel and breather line is clipped to the fuel tank.
-- Position the fuel tank with the mounting straps on the underbody using the :VAS6931 .
-- When positioning the fuel tank, make sure that the fuel filler neck is guided correctly into the opening of the body.
Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:
-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to the appropriate service information. .
-- Install the rear bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Connect the battery while following all steps after connecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
