Front Seat, Removing And Installing, Manual/Power: Installing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting a connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal And Note The Following:

NOTE:

Make sure the connectors are installed all the way and engage audibly.

-- Lift the front seat into the vehicle with the help of a second technician and align it.

Manual front seat: the seat rails for the seat forward/back adjustment must engage parallel to each other.

-- Tighten front bolts -2- on the seat rail.

-- Remove the :VAS6282 and connect the connector to the connector station in the floor. Refer to AIRBAG ADAPTER, CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING .

WARNING:

Repairing pyrotechnic components (for example the airbag and seat belt tensioner) incorrectly increases the risk of unintentional deployments when the battery is connected.

The ignition must be on when connecting the battery.
Make sure that no one is inside the vehicle at the time when the battery is connected.

-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

WARNING:

Repairing pyrotechnic components (for example the airbag and seat belt tensioner) incorrectly increases the risk of injuries due to unintentional deployments when the ignition is switched on.

If the ignition is not switched on after the battery is reconnected - >>Indicator Lamps In The Instrument Cluster Do Not Light Up<< - the ignition (key/button) may only be switched on when the driver seat is positioned all the way back.

-- Move the front seat all the way forward and up.

-- Install the rear bolts -1- on the seat rail and tighten then.

NOTE:

If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
