Backrest Release Mount, Removing And Installing: Removing
- Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fasten the front seat on the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the backrest release trim. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the backrest seat cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Standard seat/sport seat: remove the backrest release. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Super-sport seat: remove the bolts -1-, disengage the bracket -2- from the backrest release and remove.
-- Pry the release cable -1- from the backrest release bearing with a screwdriver in the direction of the -arrow-.
-- Disengage the connecting cable from the bearing.

-- Drill out the rivets -2- from the backrest frame.
-- Remove the backrest release bearing -3- from the backrest frame.
