Cylinder Head, Removing And Installing: Removing
Preliminary work may be required depending on the model. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the air duct pipe. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If installed, remove the bolts -1 and 2- and tilt the coolant pipes to the left.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2- and free up the wire -arrows-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and then remove the turbocharger support.
-- Remove the banjo bolt -2- and move the coolant line to the side.
-- Remove the bolts -1- on the oil supply line and the bolt -3- on the oil return line.
TIP:
For clarity, the installation position is shown with the engine removed.
-- Remove bolts -arrows- and then remove the heat shield.
-- Remove the banjo bolt -1- and then remove the oil supply line from the turbocharger.
-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the coolant hose.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 through 4-.
-- Free up the wire -5-.
-- Disconnect the vacuum line -6- leading to the EVAP canister.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1- and remove them from the bracket.
-- Disconnect the connectors -2 through 4-.
-- Disconnect and free up the vacuum line -5-.
-- Remove the nut -2- and bolt -1- and remove the intake manifold support.
-- Disconnect the coolant hoses -arrows- and free them up.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the front coolant pipe from the intake manifold.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the cylinder head bolts using the :T10070 or :T40270 in the sequence -1 through 10-.
- Make sure all wires and cables are disconnected.
- Pay attention to the tension and guide tracks when lifting the cylinder head.
-- Remove the cylinder head.
-- Lay the cylinder head on a soft surface, such as foam.
-- Seal the open channels of the intake and exhaust tract with a clean cloth or with completely clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
