Overview - Balance Shaft Drive Chain

  1. Guide Pin
    • 20 Nm
  2. Guide Rail
    • For the timing chain
  3. Timing Chain
  4. Guide Pin
    • 20 Nm
  5. Tensioning Rail
    • For the drive chain for the balance shafts
  6. Balance Shaft
  7. Guide Pin
    • 20 Nm
  8. Guide Rail
    • For the timing chain
  9. Chain Tensioner
    • 85 Nm
    • Coat the seal with sealant
  10. Three Stage Chain Sprocket
    • Installation position. Refer to Figure.
  11. O-ring
    • Lubricate with engine oil
  12. Mounting Pin
    • Lubricate with engine oil
    • Installation position. Refer to  15.
  13. Intermediate Sprocket
  14. Washer
  15. Bolt
    • Tightening sequence. Refer to the illustration below.
    • Always replace after removing.
    • The intermediate sprocket -item 13-  OVERVIEW - BALANCE SHAFT DRIVE CHAIN must be replaced if the bolt is loosened.

CAUTION:

- The intermediate sprocket must always be replaced, otherwise the backlash will incorrectly adjust itself.

-- Tighten the bolt -1- in steps:

Step Tightening Specification/Additional Turn
1. 10 Nm
2. -- Turn the intermediate sprocket
  • The intermediate sprocket must not have any play otherwise loosen and tighten it again.
3. 25 Nm
4. 90° additional turn
