Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.

Hose connections and charge air system hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing. On connector couplings, the seal and sealing surfaces must only be lightly oiled, refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR HOSE CONNECTIONS, AIR GUIDE WITH CONNECTOR COUPLING .

Charge air system must be properly sealed.

Replace the self-locking nuts.

Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the connection for oil supply line.

-- Install the catalytic converter, refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .

-- Install air guides with coupling, refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR HOSE CONNECTIONS, AIR GUIDE WITH CONNECTOR COUPLING .

NOTE:

Do not reuse used coolant.

-- Fill the coolant, refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING => Filling .

-- Check the oil level.

NOTE:

After installing turbocharger, let engine idle for approximately one minute without increasing engine speed. This ensures adequate oil supply to the turbocharger.
