Pinpoint Test F : The Power Liftgate Pinch Strip Does Not Stop Or Reverse The Liftgate

- F1 CHECK FOR LTM DTC B2699, B2700, B2701 AND B2702
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the LTM self-test.
Is DTC B2699, B2700, B2701 or B2702 present?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test G . No GO to F2. - F2 CHECK THE LIFTGATE PINCH STRIPS USING THE PINCH STRIPS PIDs
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the LTM PIDs
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the following LTM PIDs while activating the left and right pinch strips:
- Liftgate left pinch strip status (LFT_PINCH)
- Liftgate right pinch strip status (RT_PINCH)
Does the PID state change/agree with the pinch strip status?
Yes GO to F3. No INSTALL a new pinch strip switch for the one in question. REFER to Pinch Strip Switch . - F3 CHECK FOR CORRECT LTM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the LTM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect all the LTM connectors and make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new LTM. REFER to Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
